Being an Intern at Ace Lifts

For the last five months we have had another fantastic student from Arnhem Business School called Renate in the Netherlands working in the office on a placement. She carried out a number of tasks whilst she was here, including arranging call outs, answering phone calls, some accounts and some marketing. Before Renate left, she wrote a short message about being an intern at Ace for out blog..

"After 5 months of working for ACE Lifts as a part of my study I’d like to share with you all how I experienced it.

To be honest before I came to Sandycroft I didn't even know I would end up in Wales, and I had no idea about the distances between places! Unfortunately I decided to live in Chester during my internship which ended up to be a bad decision. I thought if I lived in a bigger city I would be able to both work and experience the benefits of a great city. Travelling from the other side of Chester to Sandycroft was rather time consuming though. I therefore decided to move to Shotton, which is so close I could take a bus. So after a rather bumpy start I managed to find my bearings and settle down.

I started to fully focus myself on working for a company that is small and large at the same time. The company has a limited number of people working for it, but a large area to cover. Working in the office where all the projects and jobs are overseen is hectic to say the least! I enjoyed it all the way through though, since all my colleagues and managers were extremely friendly and helpful. Whenever I had a problem or an issue at either work on in my private life they have been a great help and comfort. I've made some real good friends during this internship and I can only say that I had an extremely wonderful time working for ACE Lifts.

Happy New Year

Hello and happy (albeit, belated) new year!

As always, January has been busy so far, catching up with all the work that stacked up over the Christmas holidays. Now it's nearly half way through the month things are getting back to normal, and into some type of order.

It looks like the next few months are going to be quite hectic at Ace as we finish planning, and begin, the Green Lifts project. This is a project that intends to find the optimum materials and electronic systems and create a lift that is energy efficient whilst not compromising on ride comfort. At the moment we are putting all the paperwork and plans into place, and hope to actually begin in a couple of months.

In the meantime, I have a chart to finish and some sorting out to do!

Bye for now.
